Lynda predominantly work in oils, painting mostly landscapes, reflecting the ever strong pull she has to be outdoors. She couldn’t be more contented than when exploring new places, stemming back to her childhood spent on family walks, making nature tables and collecting things. Through her paintings, she captures the sense of a place visited, enjoyed and experienced. They are windows into personal memories, layered with textures and colours, that absorb the atmosphere of a place and bring that home, capturing texture, colours, weather and the elements. They are about returning to places to know them, evoking familiarity. Exploring and enveloping new spaces, making place memories, to capture the connection in paint.

Her background is in Graphic Design, she holds a Diploma with Distinction and an Honours Degree from IADT. On graduating, she established her own Graphic Design business, colouringbox, which for the last twenty years has brought her along a creative, if however, very disciplined path.

She had long felt there was something much more to explore, and believe she has found that creative avenue through painting.

Lynda is an elected member of the Watercolour Society of Ireland.

2017 – Her first exhibition ‘A Year of Painting’ in 2017, was exactly that, twelve months spent learning, experimenting, painting and smiling. Thirty six paintings of places travelled to in that time, from The Outer Hebrides in Scotland, to Cork, Wexford and her home county of Wicklow.

She was awarded a two week residency at Cill Rialaig in Ballinskelligs, Kerry in November 2017, a thoroughly incredible experience.
